Hailing from Texas and now living between Girona and Colorado, Chad has a long history as a professional, having raced World Championships and 12 Grand Tours on the road: Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, and Vuelta Espana, including winning stage 21of the 2019 Giro d’Italia.
Now focused on professional long distance gravel racing, Chad has a unique perspective on the shoe as a piece of performance equipment. Throughout his career he has struggled, until now, to solve the footwear piece of the equation.
In his own words:
"I've been racing for well over 10 years now. I have worn all kinds of shoes with custom insoles, and I have taken a box cutter to all of it to make my fairly average feet comfortable. And thanks to improvement in 3D scanning and 3D printing technology, Lore was able to build shoes for my feet from the ground up. They are as snug as the tightest shoe you could imagine, but there's zero pressure points because it's made for my feet. And that means that power transfer is 100%.Not all shoes fit all feet, but these shoes fit my feet.”
